WIC Sep 21-26, 2013 – “Stay Away” Women Empowerment through Self Defense Instructor course

What is it all about?

A specific subsection of Krav-Maga is designed for women, because of the different needs that women have, as opposed to men. Usually a man need not learn techniques against sexual assault.
There are a few differences between men and women that lead to teaching certain techniques and not others: Threats that women have to confront with have unique characteristics; Women are physically built different than men and because of that they are inclined to inferiority in strength; Culturally, we still treat men and women differently, which breeds certain mentalities in them both – Krav-Maga must tackle this issue and teach men and women how to use these mentalities or phase them out.

Women have to confront with two main threats: Sexual Assault & Sexual Harassment. The way Krav-Maga teaches to confront these problems in general is by using the Correct Behavior Under Risk module (see p. ), with one modification: After all other means of escaping or fighting have been exhausted to no avail, it is recommended, as horrible as it may sounds, to relax the sphincters and induce vomiting. This causes an unpleasant condition to the assaulter, which might cause him to release and leave the woman alone.

Many assaults come to satisfy a different sickly need for violence, and the attacker chooses a woman not for her sexuality, but rather for her frailty. Surrendering to an attacker, so that he will “have his sexual way” with the victim and leave, might be the wrong thing to do, if sexual pleasure is not what the attacker is looking for. If his sick mind craves violence, he will beat the helpless victim again and again until he reached his deranged satisfaction.
